Fold, Bind, and Dip: An Introduction to Indigo & Shibori

This 3-hour workshop will introduce you to the Japanese art of Shibori and dyeing with natural indigo in a stress-free setting!  Your instructor, Amanda Novak, is a self-taught textile artist who has been hand dyeing since 2018.  During the class, we'll talk through starting an indigo vat for dyeing, several techniques for folding and binding fabric, and then we'll dye your project.  You'll walk away with 2 kitchen towels and a quick guide to indigo dyeing for future projects.  

Seats are limited to 8 people per class.  Registration in advance required.  Minors are welcome if accompanied by an adult.  Best for ages 12 and up.  All sales are final - no refunds or reschedules for workshop seats.  

Attire for class: Please wear dark colors and/or clothes that you wouldn't mind getting dye on. Aprons and gloves will be provided but indigo dyeing can be a bit messy.
