My Story
Atlas & Orion started with one suitcase, a passport, and a deep love for things made by human hands. Wandering through Morocco’s medinas and mountain villages, I fell in love with pieces that carried stories—woven, carved, hammered, dyed, and passed down through generations. In 2025, I turned that love into Atlas & Orion, a Colleyville‑based studio that connects Moroccan craftsmanship with modern, intentional living.
After twenty years in higher education and nonprofit leadership, I walked away from burnout and straight into creativity. I started teaching workshops because adults deserve a place to play again. A place to make something joyful, get a little messy, and remember they are artists, even if life convinced them otherwise.
I believe objects should have soul. Every rug, tray, mirror, and textile in our collection is handmade by artisans who carry centuries of tradition in their fingertips. I work directly with cooperatives and family workshops to ensure fair wages, ethical sourcing, and sustainable practices because decorating your home or adding something to your wardrobe. should feel good in every way.
The name Atlas & Orion comes straight from the things that move me: the thrill of travel and the hunt for meaningful, well‑made pieces. Atlas reflects my love of wandering—mountains, markets, medinas, anywhere craftsmanship lives. Orion, the hunter, represents how I source: intentionally, selectively, and always in search of pieces with soul. Together, they’re my compass—grounded in exploration, guided by curiosity, and always pointing me toward artisans whose work deserves to be celebrated.
I’m drawn to textures that tell stories and colors that feel alive—pieces that look like they’ve lived a life before arriving in yours. Alongside our imported Moroccan goods, I also create small‑batch ice‑dyed clothing and home décor, a craft I fell in love with back in 2019 through my previous brand, FREE RAIN SPLY. Dyeing keeps me rooted in the handmade, the experimental, the joyfully messy.
As Atlas & Orion grows, my mission stays the same: curate meaningful, handcrafted pieces that spark curiosity, honor tradition, and inspire a love for travel, creativity, and the makers who shape the world.
